Dental Implants

Dental Implants

consists of three main parts:

- implant fixture - a portion, that's surgically placed into the jawbone

- abutment - connects the fixture to the crown

- crown - the visible, artificial tooth

Some crowns are cemented (glued) on the abutment, where others are retained by Implant Screw, which is then covered with a filling

Treatment:

Before we can proceed with the Implant Placement surgery, we would have to refer you for a CBCT scan. It will give us a 3D image of your bone, where we can assess the high and thickness of the bone, as well as any crucial structures near by. If not enough bone is present to hold the implant in, a Bone Graft is a possible option.

After completing this step, you would need an assessment appointment with us, where we have a look at the scan together, make a treatment plan and book your appointment for implant placement surgery. We will prescribe you a course of suitable Antibiotics to take prior to your surgery.

Our third step is the placement surgery, where we will numb you up, place the implant in your jawbone and suture the site.

After week or two, we will see you for a review, where we will remove the sutures. The implant will be fully covered under the gums.

The implant will need now around 3-4 months to heal and integrate
(Osseo-integrate) with the bone.

After osseo-integration, we will place a Healing Abutment on top of your implant. To do so, we would have to make a small incision in your gum above
the implant to uncover it, and place an abutment, that will allow the gum to heal around it.

In the next stage, we will take impressions, to make a crown.

We will remove the healing abutment and replace it with the Impression Coping. Impression

Coping is an elongating “rod” for the implant, which will allow us, to see the correct angulation of the implant in the bone. We need to know that, to make it possible to attach your future crown to the implant.

We will take silicon like impressions of your oral cavity with the Impression coping in. After taking the impressions, we will replace Impression Coping back to your Healing Abutment. We will sent the impressions to the dental lab, where they will make your crown

In some cases temporary crown is needed first. Once your temporary or final crown arrives to our clinic, we will se you again, to fit it in. Please keep in mind, that entire process will take at least 6 months for best results and success rate.
